Many cities now are calling for the removal of old septic tanks. Many cities no longer allow us to break the tank and fill it in with native soil, as the Plumbing Code allows. They want the old septic tnak removed entirely, no old broken concrete in the ground.

Septic Tank Replacement

Many parts of the rural Orange County, Los Angeles County and Riverside County still rely upon septic tanks, leach fields and cess pits (cess pools) to handle the residential and light commerical liquid waste. This can still be replaced provided that no part of the property is within 200 feet of a city sewer system. If your septic tank fails, collaspes or must be replaced, a substantial repair, then code requires that the septic tank, leach field, cess pit or cess pool be abandoned, filled in, and replaced by the city approved waste sewer and drain line. We are licensed properly to dig up the city streets and tap into the main sewer system. Many times we will be required to install a new manhole for sewer access.

Cess Pit Removal

Cess pits and cess pools are little more than deep pits on property for the liquid waste to disperse into the soil after being treated in the septic tank. After abandoning the cess pit or cess pool the hole must be backfilled and compacted. If the hole is not backfilled and compacted there is serious risk of collaspe.
